North West Fraud Forum (NWFF).
Government figures recently revised the cost of fraud to the British Economy to £40 billion per year (The Times—09/09/06). With a population of 6.8 million in the North West this represents a cost of almost £4.5 billion to the regional economy.
In response to this problem the recently formed North West Fraud Forum is dedicated to fighting the rising cost of fraud in partnership with other similar regional forums. A key objective of the forum is to bring together the private and public sector within the region to share anti-fraud strategies and lobby for effective response to the problem.
Membership of this not-for-profit group is open to any individual or organisation based in the region and already has members from some of the regions leading players. Joining the forum is an important first step in recognising the impact of fraud and putting in place a range of simple but effective measures to help combat fraud.
Through partnership working, sharing best practice and information, we can make life much more difficult for fraudsters.
