NAFN has taken a key role in highlighting bank mandate fraud through the regular dissemination of alerts and maintaining a central repository of reported attempts. More recently we have been working in partnership with Police Scotland and Action Fraud UK to educate the public on mandate fraud and what measures you can take to prevent becoming a victim. They have created the following Bank Mandate Fraud Guidance booklet (also available on the NAFN website – nafn.gov.uk

REMEMBER:

  • Always be extremely wary should anyone ask you to make changes to any of your banking arrangements.
  • Alert NAFN emailing [email protected] or [email protected] so it can make all members aware.
  • Also, in Scotland all reports of fraud and any other financial crime should be reported to Police Scotland or by calling 101 without delay.
  • And in England, Wales and Northern Ireland if you have been a victim of fraud or cyber crime, report it to Action Fraud UK or by calling 0300 123 2040
